Spectrum-Roentgen-Gamma (SRG) is a German-Russian mission launched on July 13 2019, and placed in a halo orbit around the L2 point to scan the sky.
The eROSITA (extended ROentgen Survey with an Imaging Telescope Array) instrument observes in the energy range ~0.2-8 keV. It has an angular resolution of 16.1’’ half-energy width (HEW) at 1.5 keV and a time resolution of 50 ms.
eROSITA is sensitive down to ~7 x 10⁻¹⁵ erg cm⁻² s⁻¹ per scan of the sky, with 4 and a half scans completed. The catalogue of sources of the German half of the sky comprises more than a million sources.
