The Fink platform in the European Broker initiative
Fink goal is to process Rubin alert data (2025-2035), enrich it with information from other surveys and catalogues, machine-learning classification scores, and select the most promising events for a wide-variety of science cases. In preparation for data from the Rubin Observatory, Fink has been deployed since 2019 and analyses the alert data stream from the ZTF survey, Fermi and Swift missions, and gravitational wave detectors LIGO/Virgo. Thanks to its unique design, and driven by a broad scientific community (70 members across the globe), the project uniquely probes a large number of topics in the transient and variable sky, from solar system science to galactic, and extra-galactic science.
